The county’s Solid Waste C&D Landfill and all Convenience Centers will close temporarily this Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at noon for essential staff training. Residents are advised to dispose of their trash early in the day. The landfill and Convenience Centers, numbered 1 through 12, will resume normal operations the very next day. The landfill will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, while all convenience centers will welcome residents starting at 7:00 a.m.
For those unfamiliar with their locations, the centers include Elm City’s 6044 Bottoms Dairy Road and site 13 at 2400 NC 42 Hwy East.
