Three Dead in Fayette County Crash; Five Hospitalized After Collision

URGENT UPDATE: A devastating three-vehicle crash in Fayette County has left three people dead and five others hospitalized. The collision occurred on August 14, 2023, around 5:30 p.m. on Route 40 near Dark Hollow Road in Henry Clay Township.

According to state police, a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound veered into the westbound lanes, colliding head-on with a Ford pickup truck. The force of the impact sent the pickup truck into a second head-on collision with a Chevrolet express van. Tragically, the drivers of both the tractor-trailer and the Ford pickup, along with a front seat passenger in the van, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency responders rushed five occupants from the van, including the driver, to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment.
