Slidell Police Pursue Three Armed Suspects in Shooting That Left Teen Injured

Slidell, LA — Authorities are actively searching for three armed and dangerous suspects after a shooting near a McDonald’s parking lot left a 17-year-old teen grazed in the head Friday afternoon. The victim was treated and released from the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident unfolded around 4 p.m. near Voters Road and Old Spanish Trail in Slidell, Louisiana, where police responded following multiple emergency 911 calls reporting gunfire. When officers arrived, they found six people involved, but three suspects quickly fled the scene.

Botched Drug Deal Sparks Violence at McDonald’s Drive-Through

Slidell police reveal the shooting erupted during what officials described as a botched drug deal at the McDonald’s. Police state that 32-year-old Nathan Johnson attempted to sell drugs through the drive-through window to five others. The situation quickly escalated, ending in gunfire.

Out of the six identified suspects, three have been taken into custody: Nathan Johnson, 32; Kerry Major, 19; and Rashad Riddick, 19. All three face charges including attempted first-degree murder.

Meanwhile, police continue their manhunt for the other trio: Justin Barthelemy, 20; Eric Watson Jr., 17; and Syncere Givens, 19. These individuals are wanted for attempted first-degree murder and multiple weapons violations.

Police Warn Residents: Suspects May Be in New Orleans or Baton Rouge

Interim Police Chief Daniel Seuzeneau warned the public that the three suspects, while from Slidell, could have fled to nearby cities, including New Orleans or Baton Rouge.

“If anybody is found aiding and abetting, be rest assured you will be arrested as well to all these things,” said Seuzeneau.

He strongly condemned the suspects’ actions, describing the group as “teenagers acting like wanna be gangsters” and underscored that this type of violent behavior will not be tolerated in the community.
