Moore Launches Free Christmas Tree Pickup Service Today

URGENT UPDATE: The City of Moore, Oklahoma, has just announced a free Christmas tree pickup service that begins today and runs through January 16. This eco-friendly initiative is designed to assist residents in responsibly disposing of their holiday trees while keeping the city clean.

Residents are urged not to leave their trees in polycarts or at the curb. Instead, they can schedule a special pickup by contacting the sanitation department at 405-793-5070 or filling out an online form. This responsible disposal method not only maintains public order but also allows for the trees to be recycled or repurposed, promoting sustainability in the community.

For those who prefer to handle the cleanup themselves, a drop-off option is available. Public Works, located at 512 NW 27th St., will accept trees on Fridays: specifically on December 26, January 2, January 9, and January 16, from 7 AM to 5 PM. Residents must bring an ID or a City of Moore utility bill to confirm their residency when dropping off their trees.

The City of Moore emphasized the importance of this program in a recent Facebook post, stating,

“Let’s keep Moore clean and green.”

This initiative encourages community participation in environmentally responsible practices, embodying the spirit of giving that extends into the new year.

As the holiday season winds down, this timely service not only benefits the environment but also fosters a sense of community among residents. With the deadline approaching, locals are encouraged to act quickly to take advantage of this opportunity to recycle their Christmas trees.

Stay tuned for more updates as Moore continues its commitment to sustainability and community engagement. Don’t miss out on this chance to contribute to a cleaner, greener city!
