Last Two Suspects Arrested in Major Creedmoor Drug Bust

UPDATE: The final two suspects in a significant drug trafficking crackdown in Creedmoor, North Carolina, have been arrested, according to the Granville County Sheriff’s Office. This urgent development comes after a week-long operation that saw a total of 12 suspects apprehended.
The arrests were part of a collaborative effort involving the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) and the Creedmoor Police Department, targeting a drug manufacturing and distribution network operating near schools and community areas. The operation centered around the City Tavern located at 404 N Main St., a known hotspot for illegal activities, officials revealed.
On October 14, 2023, the last two individuals sought in connection with this major bust, Travis Keyshawn Johnson, age 23, and Marcus Shadell Lockett, age 52, were taken into custody. Johnson, who was already facing six felony charges, was arrested during a traffic stop in Butner, where authorities discovered 9 grams of cocaine and 58 grams of marijuana in his possession, alongside a firearm. He now faces additional charges including felony possession with intent to sell and deliver controlled substances.
Lockett was apprehended without incident by Granville County investigators and has been charged with felony conspiracy to sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substances.
This operation highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region, with officials emphasizing the dangers posed by these activities, especially near children’s playgrounds and licensed establishments. Granville County Sheriff Robert Fountain stated, “We are committed to ensuring the safety of our community by actively pursuing those involved in illegal drug activities.”
As the investigation continues, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant. The community is encouraged to report any suspicious activities to law enforcement. The impact of these arrests is expected to resonate throughout Creedmoor, as officials work to dismantle the networks fueling drug-related crime.
