NJPW has confirmed the first two title matches for its upcoming event, New Beginning in Osaka, scheduled for February 11, 2026, at Edion Arena. This highly anticipated show will feature the IWGP Tag Team titles and the NEVER Openweight Championship on the line, showcasing some of the promotion’s top talent.
The IWGP Tag Team Champions, The Knock Out Brothers (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice), will defend their titles against either Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura or Tomohiro Ishii & Taichi. The challengers will be determined in a number one contender’s match taking place at a Road to New Beginning event on January 19. Both Umino & Uemura and Ishii & Taichi confronted the champions at New Year Dash, signaling their intentions for a title shot.
In another notable match, Aaron Wolf, the current NEVER Openweight Champion, will defend his title against Ren Narita. Wolf, who made headlines by winning the championship during his pro wrestling debut at Wrestle Kingdom 20, is an Olympic gold medalist in judo. Narita aims to reclaim the championship for the House of Torture faction.
