AMD Silo AI has announced a strategic collaboration with Robotec.ai, a prominent developer of simulation platforms for robotics applications. This partnership aims to enhance the capabilities of autonomous systems and robotics by optimizing digital twin and scenario reconstruction workloads specifically for next-generation automotive and robotics systems powered by AMD Instinct GPUs.
The synergy between AMD Silo AI and Robotec.ai aligns with the latter’s mission to create safe, human-friendly robotics. Through Robotec.ai’s open-source, AI-driven digital twin simulation tools, the collaboration seeks to provide a robust framework for developing, training, and testing autonomous systems. Central to this initiative is Robotec.ai’s flagship RoSi platform, which integrates seamlessly with AMD’s scalable compute platforms.
In particular, the RoSi Sensors, which utilize the RGS ray-tracing library, offer optimized GPU performance for LiDAR and radar simulations. This technology enables rapid testing of complex multi-sensor configurations, enhancing the efficiency of robotics development.
Building an Open Ecosystem for Robotics
Michal Niezgoda, CEO and co-founder of Robotec.ai, emphasized the advantages of open-source technology: “Open source empowers customers to evaluate technology on their own terms, inspect code for cybersecurity, and benefit from a community that validates and improves solutions. With proprietary solutions, you’re dependent on a single vendor’s roadmap and priorities. With AMD Silo AI, we can scale our platform to meet the growing demand from our customers.”
This partnership reflects a mutual commitment to expanding the robotics ecosystem and enhancing the development cycles for open-source solutions. Both companies aim to foster academic collaborations and encourage contributions from third parties, thereby strengthening the innovation landscape in robotics.
Peter Sarlin, CEO and co-founder of AMD Silo AI, stated, “The collaboration with Robotec.ai underscores a shared commitment to open-source innovation. A commitment that empowers customers with digital sovereignty and seamless portability of GPU workloads—enabling safer, more efficient robotics systems across diverse hardware and environments.”
Advancing Autonomous Applications
The collaboration with Robotec.ai is part of a broader initiative by AMD Silo AI to create an open ecosystem that integrates top-tier software with cutting-edge GPU infrastructure for the autonomous and robotics sectors. This effort includes notable partnerships, such as the one with Parallel Domain, to enhance the capabilities of autonomous driving, robotics, and simulation technologies.
AMD is also working with Robotec.ai to develop and test the first fully autonomous warehouse robot. This innovative robot leverages agentic AI capabilities, allowing it to plan and execute tasks dynamically in real time without relying on hard-coded scripts. Notably, this robot is powered exclusively by AMD Ryzen AI processors designed for embedded systems.
By drawing on its extensive experience in providing end-to-end compute solutions—spanning safety-critical edge devices, digital twin platforms, and AI cloud infrastructure—AMD Silo AI aims to broaden access to high-performance robotics simulation on a global scale. The acquisition of Silo AI, a Finnish AI lab, by AMD in 2022 is a testament to the company’s commitment to advancing robotics and AI technology.
As this partnership unfolds, both AMD Silo AI and Robotec.ai remain focused on their shared vision of fostering innovation that prioritizes safety and efficiency in robotics, paving the way for a more integrated future in autonomous systems.
