A series of criminal activities and traffic incidents kept Wyomissing Police on high alert over the weekend of January 6 and January 7, 2026. Officers responded to reports of stolen vehicles, assaults, and various emergencies, reflecting a busy two days for local law enforcement.

The situation escalated shortly after midnight on January 6 with the report of a stolen vehicle on Park Road North. Police later located the vehicle in neighboring West Reading. In the early hours, officers were dispatched to Museum Road to assist a person experiencing a mental health crisis. One individual was transported to a hospital while another was returned to a nursing facility.

Traffic incidents dominated the afternoon and evening of January 6. A reportable crash at the intersection of Wayne Avenue and Park Road South involved two vehicles; one reportedly struck another car and a stop sign, leading to both vehicles being towed. Additionally, a hit-and-run was reported on Bern Road, where a vehicle sustained damage to its front bumper.

Allegations of threats surfaced after a verbal altercation on Cleveland Avenue, while a suspicious inquiry regarding a credit report was noted on Pinewood Road. A separate report indicated a stolen credit card and headphones valued at over $650 from a residence on Wyomissing Court.

The following day began with multiple incidents, including a traffic stop on Route 222, which resulted in citations for speeding and an unsafe lane change. A 911 hang-up call from Van Reed Road was investigated but deemed not an emergency.

Later on January 7, police responded to a death investigation on Spring Street, where a coroner was summoned. Specific details regarding the incident have not been released to the public. Retail thefts were also reported, including one theft involving a cologne tester on State Hill Road and another involving property valued at $175 on Berkshire Boulevard.

Further incidents included an assault report on State Hill Road, a fraud complaint related to washed checks on Woodland Road, and a trespassing complaint involving a guest who failed to check out on time but left without any further incident.

January 7 concluded with several motor vehicle accidents logged, including a reportable crash on Fourth Street and another hit-and-run on Route 422. Officers also dealt with reports of individuals impersonating electric company employees on Cambridge Avenue and a suspicious juvenile selling items on Penn Avenue.

By the end of January 7, Wyomissing Police had responded to 19 separate incidents for the day, following 17 incidents the previous day. Authorities have reiterated that all allegations referenced in the police blotter are just that—allegations. Individuals mentioned are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
