UPDATE: A woman was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident early this morning in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. At approximately 2:15 a.m., an adult female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle described as a black sedan in the 6600 block of South Ashland Avenue, according to Chicago police.

Authorities reported that the sedan was traveling north at a high rate of speed when it collided with the victim, who suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have confirmed that the vehicle fled the scene immediately after the incident, and currently, no suspects are in custody.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene as officers arrived following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian. Tragically, the woman was found deceased upon their arrival.
