UPDATE: In a stunning display of dominance, the top-seeded Windsor Wizards obliterated the No. 9 Pueblo South Colts with a score of 56-14 in the second round of the Class 3A football playoffs on Saturday. This emphatic victory propels the unbeaten Wizards (12-0) into the semifinals, where they will face fifth-seeded Holy Family (11-1) at 1 p.m. on November 18, 2025.
Windsor’s offense surged once again, showcasing their strength just a week after a powerful win against Severance. The Wizards initially found themselves tied at 7 after the first quarter but quickly regained control, scoring 21 points in the second quarter to lead 28-14 at halftime. They completely shut down Pueblo South in the second half, scoring an astonishing 28 unanswered points.
Senior Adrian Czyszczon was a standout performer, racking up 187 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries. Quarterback Mason Moore also made his mark with 120 rushing yards on 15 carries and two touchdown passes, completing 3 of 4 passes for 61 yards.
In another tight matchup, the sixth-seeded Roosevelt Rough Riders concluded their playoff journey with a narrow 21-14 loss against third-seeded Palisade. Despite a strong season ending at 8-4, Roosevelt fought valiantly, taking a brief lead in the fourth quarter with a touchdown pass from senior Jasiah Ramirez to junior Noah Lucero. However, Palisade responded swiftly, reclaiming the lead on a 79-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Dylon Larson.
Roosevelt’s efforts were commendable, narrowly outgaining Palisade 322-314 in total yardage. Senior Milo Pascual led the rushing attack with 107 yards, while Lucero caught five passes for 105 yards and both of the Rough Riders’ touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the ninth-seeded Eaton Reds saw their playoff hopes dashed once again, falling 35-13 to fourth-seeded Elizabeth in the semifinals. This marks the third consecutive year that Eaton’s playoff run has ended one win shy of the championship game, finishing their season with a record of 8-4. Elizabeth will now advance to face second-seeded Wellington (12-0) in the championship at 5 p.m. on November 18.
The Reds fought hard, tying the game at 7-7 at halftime and trailing only by 21-13 midway through the fourth quarter. However, Elizabeth pulled away with a series of big plays, sealing Eaton’s fate. Eaton junior quarterback Brayden Legler threw for 160 yards, completing 16 of 25 passes with one touchdown.
