URGENT UPDATE: The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will host a critical open house on October 29 from 4-6 p.m. at Deerwood City Hall to discuss the upcoming construction project for Highway 210 (also known as Highway 6), impacting the vital route from Crosby to Deerwood.
This is your chance to get the latest information on significant improvements to Highway 210, including resurfacing, drainage upgrades, and pedestrian enhancements. The open house will be held in the auditorium and community center at 23770 Forest Road. There will be no formal presentation, allowing attendees to drop by at their convenience, view project layouts, and speak directly with the MnDOT project team.
The planned construction is set for 2029, with preliminary design work continuing through 2027. Significant improvements will include resurfacing Highway 210 from east of Third Avenue East in Crosby to East Broadway in Deerwood, alongside the installation of new pavement markings, rumble strips, and updated guardrails.
Key improvements also focus on reconstructing and updating the road surface from East Broadway to Ruggles Avenue. This will include enhancements at the intersection of Highway 210 and Crow Wing County Road 12, as well as repairs to underground stormwater structures and the addition of pedestrian sidewalks and crossings.
With the potential for significant traffic disruptions during construction, it is crucial for the community to stay informed. Residents are encouraged to participate, ask questions, and voice concerns during this open house.
