UPDATE: Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on December 14, 2025, on Bemiss Road in Valdosta. The Valdosta Police Department responded to a 911 call from a victim who reported being robbed at gunpoint, triggering a swift investigation.
The victim reported that he felt he was being followed while driving but initially thought it was a case of road rage. Suddenly, another vehicle cut him off, forcing him to stop. According to a press release from the VPD, “The victim and witnesses stated that occupants in the offender vehicle approached their car, one of them brandishing a firearm and demanding that he roll the window down.” When the victim complied, the assailant seized cash from him before fleeing the scene.
Detectives quickly began their investigation by reviewing surveillance footage from the area. They identified the vehicle involved and its occupants: 19-year-old David Howard IV as the driver and 17-year-old Jaidon Scott as a passenger. An arrest warrant was issued for Howard for armed robbery.
On December 18, VPD officers spotted the suspect vehicle on Baytree Road, with Howard behind the wheel. Officers executed a traffic stop, apprehending Howard without incident. He was subsequently taken to Lowndes County Jail.
Scott was tracked down at his home in Brooks County, where detectives located him and made the arrest. He faces multiple charges, including armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person under 21.
This case is ongoing, and authorities are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
