UPDATE: The highly anticipated 19th annual Coaches Choice USA Staten Island vs. New Jersey Challenge kicks off this Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Moore Catholic in Graniteville. This year’s event promises thrilling matchups featuring local high school teams, but with a unique twist—two former champions will lead their teams in a showdown.

The spotlight will shine on the second game, where Staten Island Academy faces Bound Brook. This game is set to feature head coaches who are both former Jaques Award winners, elevating the stakes for players and fans alike. Sandy Litkenhaus, a Jaques Award winner from the 1986-87 season, begins her first year at the helm of SIA. Meanwhile, Jen Derenjanik, a remarkable three-time Jaques winner (1998-2000), enters her 12th season leading Bound Brook.
