Sherry Ann Turner, Beloved Community Figure, Passes Away at 73

Born on January 10, 1952, in Cozad, Nebraska, Sherry was known for her vibrant spirit and passion for life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.

A proud graduate of Eustis High School, Sherry was celebrated for her lively personality and was crowned homecoming queen in 1970. She furthered her education at the University of Nebraska Lincoln, where she earned a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. During her time at university, she joined the Pi Beta Phi sorority, forming lifelong friendships that enriched her life.

Sherry’s adventurous nature took her to Italy for a year, where she created unforgettable memories. After college, she moved to Breckenridge, Colorado, where she began her career working on Peak 9 and in retail. Fueled by her love for jewelry, she opened her own store, Nordica Haus, at the base of Peak 9. Later, she transitioned to a successful career as a mortgage lender, eventually relocating to Cherry Creek in Denver.

Beyond her professional achievements, Sherry had an immense love for the mountains, often found skiing, hiking, and fishing at Parathyon Point. She frequently gathered family and friends in her backyard, fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere that showcased her sociable nature.

Sherry’s legacy is defined by her adventurous spirit, dedication to her work, and the joy she found in connecting with loved ones. She is survived by her brothers, Doug Turner of Sun City, AZ, and Brad Turner of Eustis. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, including Ryan (Afsoon) Turner of Hillsborough, CA, Melodie (Tracy) Bellamy of Kearney, and many more, along with countless friends who considered her family.
