Sally J. Ifkovits, Beloved Northampton Resident, Passes Away at 62

BREAKING: Sally J. Ifkovits, a cherished member of the Northampton community, has sadly passed away at the age of 62. She died peacefully on November 20, 2025, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

This devastating news comes just days before her scheduled memorial services, which will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Reichel Funeral Home, located at 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A prayer service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Fairview Cemetery in Northampton.

Sally was a dedicated professional, serving over 32 years at People First Federal Credit Union, where she rose from member services manager to card and ATM operations manager. Her commitment to her work was only matched by her devotion to her family. She celebrated 37 years of marriage with her husband, Michael J. Ifkovits, and was a proud grandmother to her grandson, Paxton, who brought her immense joy.

Beyond her immediate family, Sally is survived by her sons, Riley and wife Kelly, and Alex and wife Anna; brothers Keith Rex and Kevin Rex (with Karen); sister Susie Weber (with Harold); and brother-in-law Garry Christman. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Jane, and niece, Adrienne.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or the Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley in Sally’s memory.
