Roy S. Vinson, a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on May 2, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving behind a large family and community touched by his passing.
The family has announced a visitation on May 7 starting at noon, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., both at Fowler and Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville, Missouri. He will be laid to rest at Black Creek Cemetery shortly thereafter.
Celebrating a Legacy Rooted in Family
Born on July 4, 1933, Roy Vinson spent more than nine decades witnessing immense change in America. Known as a devoted husband and patriarch, he was married to Diane Hastings Vinson since July 6, 1974.
Survived by his wife Diane, Roy’s immediate family includes children Jerry (Sue) Vinson, Phillip (Lee) Vinson, Johnny Spencer, and Donald (Connie) Spencer. He is also survived by his sister, Zelma Taylor, along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who carry forward his family name and legacy.
The family also mourns the loss of two of Roy’s children who preceded him in death—son Mikel Vinson and daughter Mary Evelyn Vinson—as well as multiple brothers and sisters.
