Philadelphia Officer Andy Chan’s Viewing and Funeral Set for Next Week

UPDATE: The viewing and funeral services for Philadelphia Highway Patrol Officer Andy Chan are scheduled for next week, following his tragic death last week. This marks a poignant moment for the community as Chan passed away nearly seven years after suffering critical injuries when a driver struck his motorcycle in Holmesburg, Philadelphia.

The first viewing will take place on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic Church from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A second viewing is set for Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 8:15 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Following the viewings, the funeral will commence at 12 p.m. (noon).

Chan was a decorated officer, recognized for his bravery with a commendation in 2011. In a heartfelt gesture, a fundraiser originally planned for his ongoing care will now serve as a memorial this Friday, allowing the community to honor his legacy.

This is a developing story with significant emotional impact, as the community rallies to support Chan’s family during this difficult time. Authorities encourage those wishing to pay their respects to attend the services and share their memories of Officer Chan, who dedicated his life to serving and protecting the city.
