URGENT UPDATE: The U.S. Legends Pickleball League has just launched a thrilling national tournament in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, bringing together senior pickleball players aged 50 and 60+ from across the country. The event, taking place today at Dill Dinkers, features 12 teams competing for glory, showcasing the growing popularity of pickleball among older athletes.
Players have traveled from as far as Boston to Florida to participate in this exciting tournament. Co-Founder Michael Cao emphasized the importance of creating an enjoyable atmosphere for all competitors: “The biggest goal for us is we want to make sure everybody enjoys their time when they come out to compete.”
Co-Founder Ron Cortese added, “The goal really is to allow the older players to be able to compete at their age level. I played tennis in high school and college… and then pickleball came along and it allowed anyone 50 and older to be able to compete at this high level.”
This tournament not only highlights the competitive spirit of senior athletes but also fosters community and camaraderie among players. Spectators can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with energy and sportsmanship.
The event is open to the public, and local residents are encouraged to come out and support the players as they engage in fast-paced matches. The U.S. Legends Pickleball League aims to continue promoting active lifestyles for seniors nationwide, making this tournament a significant milestone in the sport’s evolution.
