URGENT UPDATE: Just in time for Halloween season, film critics have unveiled the 5 worst horror movies of 2025. This list is a must-see for horror enthusiasts looking to avoid cinematic disasters.

“28 Years Later” has been confirmed as the most disappointing horror film released this year. Despite its high expectations, critics are advising viewers to skip this film at all costs. It’s described as a rubbish experience from beginning to end, with its second half spiraling into an uninspired mess that combines elements of “Apocalypse Now” and “The Walking Dead”. Viewers have likened Ralph Fiennes’ character to a mix of Daryl Dixon and Marlon Brando, but this film fails to deliver any worthwhile entertainment.

Next on the list is “Him”, directed by Justin Tipping. Critics report that this horror/sports hybrid bombards audiences with a heavy-handed message about society’s obsession with greatness in sports. While it attempts to address an important topic, it ultimately falls short, failing to satisfy fans of either genre.

Coming in third is “The Long Walk”, a Stephen King adaptation that critics are calling a major letdown. Released in 2025, this film, based on King’s 1979 work, lacks basic storytelling fundamentals, resulting in a tedious viewing experience. Critics suggest it should have been titled “The Long Watch” instead.

Following closely is “Death of a Unicorn”, which critics have dismissed as a one-joke film. The concept of a killer unicorn is exhausted quickly, leading to a monotonous viewing experience. Reviewers recommend watching “Bambi: The Reckoning” instead for a more fulfilling horror experience.

Finally, the infamous “I Know What You Did Last Summer” has made the list, much to the dismay of fans of the original 1997 film. Critics lament that this new offering lacks quality writing and fresh ideas, failing to connect with the beloved source material. Despite its shortcomings, it still ranks higher than the poorly received 2006 sequel, “I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer”.

As Halloween approaches, horror movie buffs should take heed of this list to avoid these cinematic flops. With so many great films available, there’s no need to waste time on these misfires. Stay tuned for more updates as new films are released!
