Hickory Police Launches Urgent Cops for Tots Toy Drive for 2025

URGENT UPDATE: The Hickory Police Department has just launched its annual Cops for Tots event, aiming to bring holiday joy to children in need across local communities. Applications are now OPEN for families wishing to participate in the 2025 Cops for Tots Wish House, an initiative that has significantly expanded since the 1980s, when it served just 12 families.
This year, families residing in Catawba, Burke, Alexander, and Caldwell Counties are encouraged to apply. Interested parents or guardians can submit applications online or in person, with a Spanish application available to ensure accessibility. To qualify, families must present a current government-issued photo ID, along with a Medicaid card or birth certificate for each child. Notably, families already receiving assistance from the Christmas Bureau in 2025 are ineligible.
“We invite our community to come together and support children who may not otherwise receive gifts this holiday season,” stated a representative from the Hickory Police Department. “Your contributions can truly make a difference.”
The Cops for Tots Wish House will be open from December 10 to December 12 at the Hickory Police Training Annex. Two daily sessions are scheduled, running from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.. During this time, families can receive toys for children aged birth to 13 years old.
Community members wishing to contribute can drop off new, unwrapped toys at collection boxes located at the Hickory Police Department or send monetary donations via mail. All contributions will support the Christmas Wish House and related programs for children, ensuring that every cent goes towards making this holiday season brighter for those in need.
The program not only highlights community support but also strengthens the relationship between law enforcement and local residents. The Hickory Police Department emphasizes that every toy and donation helps spread holiday cheer, making a tangible impact on families facing difficult times.
For more information or inquiries, community members are urged to contact the police department directly through the designated extension for the Cops for Tots program. Details can be found on the official City of Hickory’s website.
Don’t miss the opportunity to be a part of this heartwarming initiative. Your involvement can help create smiles and memories for children this festive season!
