Five Arrested Following Halloween Burglary in San Jose

UPDATE: Five individuals have been arrested in connection with a brazen burglary that occurred on Halloween morning in West San Jose. The incident unfolded at approximately 10:15 a.m., according to police spokesperson Stacie Shih.

Witnesses reported two suspects forcing their way into a garage, stealing various items before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Thanks to automated license plate reader cameras, officers swiftly tracked the vehicle to a residence in the 100 block of Muirfield Drive, where they made the arrests.

Upon stopping the vehicle, authorities discovered a stolen rifle, a privately made handgun, and property linked to the burglary, along with evidence tied to additional break-ins. The three occupants arrested include a 55-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman, and a 32-year-old woman, all from San Jose. They face charges of burglary and have been booked into Santa Clara County Jail.

Additionally, a 44-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, residents of the Muirfield Drive home, were arrested on charges of possession of stolen property and firearm-related offenses. They, too, have been booked into county jail.

This incident highlights a troubling trend as Bay Area tech companies continue to attract sophisticated crime crews. Authorities urge anyone with information related to this case to reach out to Detective Chris Santistevan at 408-277-4401 or via email at [email protected].
