Fargo-Moorhead Celebrates 29th St. Patrick’s Day Parade Amid Storms

URGENT UPDATE: The 29th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Fargo-Moorhead just wrapped up, bringing together over 10,000 attendees for a day of celebration, despite threatening storms. The festivities kicked off at 10:30 A.M. with more than 300 runners participating in 5k and 10k races along the parade route.

The parade officially began at 11:00 A.M., with vibrant floats and enthusiastic marchers making their way from Center Avenue in Moorhead to Broadway in Fargo. Organizers confirmed that they took extensive measures to ensure the safety and accessibility of the roads.

Rocky Schneider, of the Downtown Community Partnership, stated, “I woke up early, our team got down here early, made sure any last little snowfall that might still be here, or ice on the roads or anything, was cleared.” He expressed gratitude that the weather cooperated, saying, “This has been a perfect day. Weather held up, community came out, all the floats, the runners ahead of time – where else can you have thousands of people come out and march and just enjoy the community?”

The atmosphere was electric as families and friends gathered to cheer on the participants and soak in the festive spirit. With each float and performance, the sense of community grew stronger, reminding everyone of the importance of togetherness during challenging weather conditions.

As the parade concluded, many participants and attendees lingered to enjoy local food vendors and activities, making the event a highlight for the community.

This year’s parade not only honored tradition but also showcased resilience and unity in the face of adversity. Residents are encouraged to share their experiences and photos from the event on social media, creating a lasting record of this memorable day.
