Biddeford Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking Near High School

UPDATE: A Biddeford man has been arrested for allegedly dealing drugs from a tent located alarmingly close to Biddeford High School. Brandon Gelsomini, 28, faces serious charges of aggravated drug trafficking and violating his conditions of release, as confirmed by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA).

The arrest, which occurred early Wednesday morning, follows a two-month investigation into Gelsomini’s activities. Authorities report that he was operating out of a tent in an encampment adjacent to railroad tracks along James Street, just steps away from the school. This alarming proximity to students has raised significant concerns in the community.

Police executed a search warrant at Gelsomini’s tent, uncovering a staggering haul of drugs. Officers seized 120 grams of fentanyl, 21 grams of powder cocaine, and 5 grams of crack cocaine. Additionally, they found a loaded shotgun and approximately $7,000 in suspected drug proceeds. The total estimated value of the drugs is around $14,000.

Gelsomini is currently being held at the York County Jail in Alfred without bail, pending a court appearance scheduled for October 31, 2023. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities urging the public to remain vigilant.
