UPDATE: A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in West Fort Worth that claimed one life on December 12, 2023. Authorities have identified the suspect as Kareem Hardin, who was apprehended on Tuesday by the Fort Worth Police Department’s Intel and Directed Response Units.
As of Wednesday morning, Hardin remains in the Tarrant County jail without a bail amount set, as confirmed by jail records. He faces a charge of capital murder by terroristic threat. It is currently unclear if he has legal representation.
The shooting occurred around 4:40 a.m. on December 12 at an apartment complex located in the 6400 block of Wildwood Circle. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and discovered that Lawrence Homan, 24, had been shot. According to police statements, Homan and a female acquaintance had driven to the complex when Hardin and another unidentified suspect attempted to enter their vehicle.
One of the suspects drew a gun and opened fire, striking Homan. He was rushed to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Fort Worth community is shaken by this tragic event, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
