18-Year-Old Driver Killed, 2 Injured in South Side Jeep Crash

URGENT UPDATE: An 18-year-old driver tragically lost his life early Sunday morning after crashing a white Jeep Cherokee into multiple homes on the South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred at approximately 5:22 a.m. in the 100 block of E. Marquette Road, within the Park Manor neighborhood.

Authorities report that the young driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which led to a catastrophic collision with residential properties. The impact was severe, damaging homes along the 6600-block of S. Wabash Avenue. The driver was rushed to University of Chicago Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In the vehicle with him were two other occupants, including a 14-year-old boy, both of whom were critically injured and transported to Comer Children’s Hospital. As of now, no other injuries have been reported from the surrounding community.
