The North Dakota Farm Bureau (NDFB) is set to celebrate NDFB Week from March 8 to March 14, 2026. This year’s theme, “Harvesting Hope: For Healthy Minds and Safer Farms,” emphasizes the importance of supporting farmers, ranchers, and their families. The initiative aims to promote hope, well-being, and safety within the agricultural community.
A significant feature of NDFB Week is a farm safety drawing contest for students in grades 4 and 5. Under the theme “Farm Safety Starts With Me,” the contest invites young participants to create artwork that illustrates how they contribute to making farms safer. This initiative not only encourages creativity but also reinforces the message that safety is a shared responsibility.
Contest Details and Participation Guidelines
Students interested in participating must adhere to several guidelines. The contest is open to all fourth and fifth graders, and the artwork should be created on 8.5-inch by 11-inch paper. Each submission must include the student’s name, grade, school, and contact information on the back. All drawings must be submitted to the NDFB office by March 4, 2026.
Two winners from each grade will be selected based on creativity and overall design. The winning students will be announced during NDFB Week and will receive a prize of $50. Additionally, their artwork will be featured in NDFB’s publication, Focus, showcasing their contributions to farm safety.
Resources for Healthy Minds
To support the theme of healthy minds, the NDFB provides additional resources, tips, and videos. Interested individuals can find more information on mental well-being at ndfb.org/healthy-minds. This initiative by the North Dakota Farm Bureau highlights the organization’s commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for agricultural communities. By engaging young students in discussions about farm safety, NDFB aims to instill lifelong practices that prioritize well-being and safety on farms.
