The Detroit Lions may not have achieved their team objectives in the 2025 season, but individual performances stood out, earning recognition for four players on the All-Pro teams announced by the Associated Press on March 15, 2025. Linebacker Jack Campbell and offensive tackle Penei Sewell were honored with first-team selections, while wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and defensive end Aidan Hutchinson secured spots on the second team.
This marks a significant milestone for Campbell, as it is his first All-Pro designation. The former first-round draft pick had an impressive season, accumulating 176 tackles, 17 pressures, five sacks, four pass deflections, three forced fumbles, and recovering two fumbles. He led the league in run stops, successfully halting offensive rushing attempts 44 times and played more snaps than any of his teammates, totaling 1,190 combined snaps on defense and special teams. Campbell is the first Lions linebacker to receive first-team All-Pro honors since Chris Spielman in 1991.
Sewell’s accolade is his third consecutive first-team selection, making him the only offensive lineman in the Lions’ history since the Super Bowl era began in 1966 to achieve multiple first-team awards from the AP. His predecessors, Lomas Brown (1985), Lou Creekmur, and Dick Stanfel, achieved their honors before 1966.
St. Brown narrowly missed out on his third consecutive first-team honor. He concluded the season with 1,401 yards, placing fifth among all receivers, along with 11 touchdowns—tied for second—and 117 receptions on 172 targets. His 591 yards after the catch ranked sixth in the league. St. Brown faced strong competition from Jaxon Smith-Njigba of the Seattle Seahawks and Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams, both of whom secured first-team spots, while Ja’Marr Chase from the Cincinnati Bengals claimed the final receiver position on the first team.
Hutchinson had a standout season, achieving a career-high 14.5 sacks and 35 quarterback hits. He led the league in pressures with 100, a statistic tracked by Pro Football Focus. Hutchinson became the only player to record two seasons with at least 100 pressures since the organization began documenting this data.
The All-Pro teams are determined by a panel of 50 media members, with first-team votes worth three points and second-team votes worth one point. Other Lions players who received recognition included running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who ranked sixth among running backs and third in the all-purpose player category, as well as safety Brian Branch, punter Jack Fox, and long snapper Hogan Hatten.
In 2024, the Lions had six players named to the All-Pro teams. First-team members included St. Brown, Sewell, safety Kerby Joseph, and punter Fox. On the second team were retired center Frank Ragnow and punt returner Kalif Raymond.
The Lions’ individual successes highlight the talent within the team, even as they look to regroup and address their overall performance heading into the next season.
