However, the addition of five-star recruit Christian Collins prompted a reevaluation of their strategy.
Zhang, currently ranked as the No. 220 prospect in the nation, has emerged as an unexpected contender in Illinois’ recruiting plans. His performance at the recent Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas drew attention from several college programs, resulting in offers from Illinois, UNLV, and USC. With a total of six offers to date, including schools like California, Washington State, and UC Riverside, his recruitment is expected to gain momentum.
Zhang’s shooting ability stands out among his peers. He possesses a smooth, compact left-handed jumper that consistently finds the net.
