Louis Edward Goldberg, aged 89, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. His life journey began in Hartford, Connecticut, where he was born to David and Paula Goldberg. The family later moved to Arizona, where Louis spent his formative years alongside his sister, Evelyn. Louis’s legacy is marked not only by his professional achievements but also by the deep love he shared with his family.
A Life Dedicated to Family and Career
After marrying his beloved wife, Sheila Burd Goldberg, the couple relocated to California, where they raised their children. Louis pursued higher education at Arizona State University and graduated from the University of Arizona. He later attended the South Bay University School of Law, ultimately transitioning from a career as an engineer to becoming an attorney at law. Louis dedicated himself to this profession until his retirement at the age of 73.
Louis was known for his zest for life. He enjoyed playing various sports, practicing karate, and was an avid fan of college basketball. He took great pleasure in exploring new restaurants and, most importantly, cherished the time spent with his family. His commitment to instilling strong values in his children and grandchildren was a hallmark of his character, and he played an active role in encouraging their careers and personal successes.
Remembering a Beloved Family Man
Louis is survived by his three children: Robert Goldberg and his wife Elaine, Michelle Goldberg Smith and her husband Kevin, and Sheri Goldberg Frazin and her husband Alvin. He also leaves behind a loving family of grandchildren: Jennifer Sher and her husband Rabbi Daniel, Steven Smith and his wife Kelby, Amanda Goldberg and her fiancé Zach, Andrew Goldberg and his wife Emily, Rachel Frazin Sofaer, and Sarah Bowens and her husband Brandon. Additionally, he was a proud great-grandfather to Levi, Sami, Lily, Rory, and Ari.
A memorial service honoring Louis was held on November 16, 2025, at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles, California. Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life, remembering him as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose impact on their lives will be cherished forever.
