At just 19 years old, Reesë Tuttle is making waves in the technology sector with her newly founded company, AP2T Labs. Tuttle’s journey from struggling student to tech entrepreneur highlights a remarkable transformation, rooted in her perseverance and passion for technology. This ambitious venture took shape during her time at the University of Cincinnati, where she was completing her second bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
Tuttle’s academic path was not without its challenges. She openly shared in a recent news release from the University of Cincinnati that her early years in education were marked by difficulties, stating, “In middle school, I was a straight-D and -C student.” Despite these setbacks, Tuttle’s dedication to technology propelled her forward, particularly through hands-on experiences that sparked her interest. Programs such as the Early IT Summer Camp at UC played a pivotal role in her development, with Tuttle describing them as “fantastic” for nurturing her skills.
Through Ohio’s College Credit Plus program, Tuttle began accumulating college credits while still in high school. By the age of 13, she had already earned multiple degrees, including four different associate degrees and a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Her academic achievements culminated in a STEM Honors Diploma from Indian Hill High School.
Balancing Academics and Personal Interests
Tuttle’s life extends beyond academics; she has a diverse range of interests that illustrate her multifaceted personality. A talented athlete, she played lacrosse while also pursuing a black belt in martial arts. Additionally, she explored her musical talents by playing the violin and engaged in amateur automotive mechanics. At one point, Tuttle considered careers in art or law before ultimately choosing to focus on technology.
Her father’s influence as a hacker and speaker, Jesse Tuttle, known as “Hackah Jak,” has also played a significant role in shaping her perspective on technology. With a solid foundation from both academic and experiential learning, Tuttle is well-positioned to make an impact in the tech industry.
As Tuttle embarks on this new chapter with AP2T Labs, her story serves as an inspiration to other young individuals navigating their own educational and professional journeys. She exemplifies the idea that challenges can be transformed into opportunities, and her achievements underscore the importance of finding one’s passion and pursuing it relentlessly.
