Prince William Highlights Family Values During Youth Club Visit

During a recent solo engagement at Youth Shedz, a youth club in Wales, Prince William expressed support for his wife, Princess Catherine, while discussing the importance of family life. The Prince of Wales visited the club, which aims to assist young people facing challenges such as homelessness and bullying. His visit underscored a commitment to fostering healthy family dynamics, emphasizing the value of shared meals and time together.

At Youth Shedz, William interacted with children benefiting from the initiative. He addressed the importance of limiting screen time, stating that children should not spend their time “by screens or disappearing off elsewhere.” His comments resonated with the club’s mission to provide a safe and engaging environment for youth.

Scott Jenkinson, the founder of Youth Shedz, guided William through various activities offered at the center, including cooking, gaming, podcasting, and 3D printing. This hands-on approach highlighted the diverse opportunities available to the young people who visit the facility.

During the visit, William also met Jenkinson’s wife, Sian Jenkinson. The conversation turned personal when the prince inquired about Jenkinson’s past struggles with addiction and homelessness. “Were you there with Scott when he turned his life around?” William asked Sian, acknowledging the significant role that support plays in recovery. Sian affirmed, “He has done well to turn his life around,” to which Scott added, “With my wife behind me. You know that.” William nodded in agreement, emphasizing the sentiment, “This is it. Behind every average man there is an even better wife.”

Although Princess Kate was not present for this engagement, her influence was palpable in William’s remarks. Earlier this year, the couple celebrated 14 years of marriage with a trip to the Isle of Mull in Scotland, a location that holds special significance for them as it is where they met as students at the University of St Andrews.

William’s visit to Youth Shedz serves as a reminder of the importance of community support and family values, reinforcing his commitment to issues affecting young people today. The engagement not only highlighted the work being done at the club but also showcased the enduring partnership between the prince and princess, even when physically apart.
