A new bubble tea cafe, Miss Sweet Bubble Tea, has recently opened its doors in Portland’s Nasons Corner neighborhood. Situated at 897 Brighton Avenue, this establishment occupies the former location of Tin Pan Bakery. The cafe aims to cater to the growing demand for bubble tea, offering a diverse selection of beverages, including bubble teas, fruit teas, classic teas, and frozen drinks.

Owner Keri Li, a seasoned restaurateur with over 30 years of experience in the Chinese food industry, expressed her enthusiasm for the drink’s rising popularity. “Bubble tea is really popular everywhere in the world right now,” Li stated. “It’s a sweet drink, and it makes people happy.” Alongside the beverage offerings, Miss Sweet Bubble Tea also provides a variety of snacks such as pork buns, spring rolls, egg tarts, and crab rangoon, as well as desserts like cookies and puddings.

While the cafe currently operates on a takeout-only basis, Li plans to introduce outdoor seating next year, enhancing the customer experience. The shop is open from Wednesdays to Mondays, serving customers from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Li co-owns China Villa in Westbrook and has previously managed other notable establishments, including the former Jan Mee in Portland and Jan Mee II in Gorham. Her extensive background in the restaurant business is expected to contribute to the success of Miss Sweet Bubble Tea as it taps into a growing trend in the region.

As bubble tea continues to gain traction across the globe, Miss Sweet Bubble Tea aims to become a local favorite, offering a unique blend of flavors and a welcoming atmosphere for the community.
