Mountain Mike’s Pizza to Open New Location in Union City by December 2025

Mountain Mike’s Pizza is set to expand its reach with a new location in Union City, California. Scheduled to open in December 2025, the restaurant will occupy the former site of Round Table Pizza and Dollar Star at 31852 Alvarado Blvd. The opening is contingent upon final buildout and permitting processes, as noted in a recent liquor license application.

Franchisee Gurpreet Buttar confirmed to What Now San Francisco that the Union City establishment will offer the chain’s well-loved menu, which features specialty pizzas, wings, sandwiches, and a lunch buffet. This new addition marks another milestone for Buttar, who, along with his business partner Raj Gill, previously opened a Mountain Mike’s in East Palo Alto in 2023. The duo now operates five locations across the Bay Area, including establishments in Fremont, Milpitas, and Belmont.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza, founded in 1978 in Palo Alto, has grown significantly, now boasting nearly 300 locations across several states, including California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, and Texas. The chain is recognized for its family-friendly environment and diverse dining options, appealing to sports fans, families, and groups alike.

The upcoming Union City location is expected to mirror the amenities found in other regional stores, such as large-screen televisions, arcade games, and an all-you-can-eat salad and pizza buffet. The establishment will also serve beer and wine, aligning with Mountain Mike’s full-service model.

Customers can anticipate classic favorites like the chain’s signature curly pepperoni pizza, as well as specialty offerings such as the Everest, Mt. Veggiemore, Spicy Himalayan Pizza, and Chicken Club. Additionally, the menu features wings, garlic sticks, salads, oven-baked sandwiches, and desserts, including cinnamon pizza and mini churros.
