The Kutztown Borough Police Department is set to hold its 2nd Annual Cops and Cabooses Community Day on March 7, 2024. This family-friendly event aims to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community while celebrating Kutztown’s rich railroad heritage. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kutztown Train Station, regardless of weather conditions.
Residents are invited to join this free event without the need for prior registration. Train departures will operate as necessary throughout the day. Cops and Cabooses offers a unique opportunity for attendees to engage with police officers in a relaxed atmosphere, enhancing community relations.
Community Engagement and Activities
The event will feature displays of police vehicles and equipment, alongside train-themed activities designed for children and families. Attendees will have the chance to interact directly with members of the police department, fostering an environment of open communication and trust.
According to the Kutztown Borough Police Department, “The purpose of the event is straightforward: build positive connections, encourage open communication, and reinforce the department’s commitment to community-focused policing.” By creating an informal setting outside of emergency situations, the department seeks to cultivate lasting relationships with residents of all ages.
Community members are strongly encouraged to participate and bring their families to this engaging event. For more information, interested individuals can contact Sgt. Walter J. Skavinsky at 610-683-3545. Cops and Cabooses aims not only to entertain but also to build a stronger, more connected community through these interactions.
