Ty Birdwell, a beloved figure in his community, passed away on November 19, 2025, at his home in Chehalis, Washington. He was 53 years old. Born in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada, he spent much of his life in the Pacific Northwest, graduating from Port Angeles High School before pursuing his passion for motocross racing.
Following high school, Birdwell dedicated himself to professional motocross racing, traveling across the country to compete. His talent and determination in the sport were evident, showcasing his commitment to excellence. Eventually, he transitioned into land development, where he demonstrated remarkable vision and skill in property development.
Birdwell’s most cherished role came when he became a father to Racyn Birdwell, whom he shared with his partner, Holly Weitz Birdwell. His devotion to Racyn was profound, and he embraced fatherhood with immense pride and love.
Passions Beyond Racing
An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Birdwell found joy in activities such as fishing, hunting, and razor clam digging. He loved camping and cherished moments spent in nature. His adventurous spirit was matched by his sense of humor; he enjoyed playing games, cooking, and sharing laughs with family and friends.
Birdwell’s impact extended beyond his immediate family. He was a brother, son, uncle, and friend to many, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him. His unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus provided him and his family with comfort, as they take solace in the belief that they will reunite in Heaven.
He is survived by his son, Racyn Birdwell; his mother, Ruth Birdwell; his sister, Staci Barcott and brother-in-law Jeff Barcott; his brother, Keith Birdwell and sister-in-law Lorinne Birdwell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Birdwell was preceded in death by his father, Ray Birdwell, and his sister, Jill Birdwell.
Celebration of Life Details
To honor his memory, a Celebration of Life will take place on February 14, 2026, at Jesters Car Museum in Chehalis, Washington. The event will start at 2 p.m. and aims to bring together family and friends to celebrate the rich life and legacy of Ty Birdwell.
Birdwell will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passion for life, love for his family, and zest for the outdoors will remain a cherished memory for many.
