S. Chris “Sonny” Nicosia, a prominent figure in the Lake Elmo community, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 86. He is remembered for his contributions to local government and his entrepreneurial spirit, having owned and operated several businesses in the area.
Nicosia’s legacy includes his service as a city councilman for St. Paul during the 1980s and his role on the St. Paul Port Authority. He was preceded in death by his children, Bobby, Dawn, and Kristi, as well as his sister, Tanny Armstrong. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Roxanne, along with their daughter Lynne and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Nicosia enjoyed various activities that brought him joy. He was passionate about spending time at the cabin, traveling, golfing, and watching NASCAR. His family and friends describe him as a man who cherished his relationships, always eager to connect with loved ones.
The family expressed gratitude towards Lakeview Hospice and Care Apparent for the compassionate care provided during his final days. They also appreciated the friends and relatives who visited Nicosia, offering their love and support.
A service to honor S. Chris “Sonny” Nicosia will take place on December 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, located at 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear, MN. A visitation will precede the service, starting at 11:00 AM. The community is invited to join in remembering a man who left a lasting impact on those around him.
