Community Mourns the Passing of Willadean Mae De Franco, 1941-2025

Willadean Mae De Franco, aged 83, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, in the company of her family. She was surrounded by her husband, Kirk De Franco Sr., their four sons, and her sister, Dawn Jeffus. Born in Pomona, California, to Willard and Leona Galbreath in 1941, Willadean’s life was marked by her love for family and her vibrant personality.

Willadean’s family includes her husband of 66 years, Kirk De Franco Sr., and their three sons: Kirk De Franco Jr. (Patricia), Christopher De Franco, and Dana De Franco (Chonna). She is survived by her siblings: Eileen Duarte of Santa Barbara, California, Dawn Jeffus of Donnelly, Idaho, and Scott Galbreath of Pomona, California. Willadean cherished her 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

A Life Dedicated to Family and Community

In 1979, Willadean and her family relocated to Willits, California, where she became a well-known figure in the community. She held various positions, including roles at the old Brooktrails Lodge, Rexall Drugs, and the Bank of Willits. Her outgoing personality and infectious laugh left a lasting impression on those around her.

Willadean enjoyed spending time at local casinos, where she formed friendships with both employees and fellow patrons. Her warm spirit and enthusiasm for life endeared her to many, making her a beloved member of the Willits community.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal services are planned. Family and friends remember Willadean as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
