Redington-Fairview General Hospital Appoints Tiffany Comis as CEO

Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan has appointed Tiffany Comis as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding long-time leader Richard “Dick” D. Willett. The announcement was made on Friday, marking a significant transition for the hospital after Willett’s more than 34 years of service. Comis previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer and has been with the hospital for over two decades.

In a statement regarding Comis’s appointment, the hospital expressed enthusiasm for her leadership, stating, “Tiffany’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter in RFGH’s ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional, community-centered health care throughout Somerset County.” The statement highlighted her extensive experience, noting that she began her career at Redington-Fairview as a staff nurse before advancing through various roles, including Emergency Department Nurse Manager and Chief Nursing Officer.

Comis holds master’s degrees in both nursing and business, which complement her extensive background in health care. Her leadership extends beyond the hospital, having served on the board of directors for the Maine Hospital Association and the executive board for the Organization of Maine Nurse Leaders. Additionally, she has been a trustee at Kennebec Valley Community College.

Willett’s tenure at Redington-Fairview General Hospital has been marked by substantial growth and modernization. Starting in 1972 as the Director of Pharmacy, he contributed significantly to the expansion of facilities and services. In the hospital’s announcement, they expressed gratitude for Willett’s dedication, stating, “His legacy will continue to guide and inspire us well into the future.”

Redington-Fairview, an independent community hospital established in 1952, operates as a 25-bed critical access facility. The hospital serves a population of over 30,000 residents in Somerset County. Currently, the hospital is undergoing an expansion project, which includes the construction of a new medical office building on Fairview Avenue. This project is estimated to cost $18 million and is expected to be completed by early 2027.

As the new CEO, Comis is poised to uphold the hospital’s commitment to personalized, community-focused care, continuing the work initiated by Willett and ensuring that Redington-Fairview remains a cornerstone of health services in the region.
