Banner Health Launches New Center in Goodyear, Enhancing Care Access

Banner Health is set to enhance healthcare access in Goodyear, Arizona, with the opening of its new multispecialty center. Spanning more than 65,000 square feet, the facility will be located at 1800 North Civic Square within the Goodyear Civic Square. The center is scheduled for its grand opening on October 22, 2023, marking a significant development in the community’s healthcare landscape.
“This new Banner Health Center will make health care easier for people in the Goodyear community,” stated Shiva Birdi, MD, chief executive officer of Banner Medical Group, as noted on the City of Goodyear’s official website. The center aims to provide a wide array of medical services, including primary care, orthopedics, endocrinology, and advanced medical imaging technologies such as CT, MRI, and mammography.
Community Impact and Economic Growth
The arrival of Banner Health has been met with enthusiasm from local officials. Joe Pizzillo, Mayor of Goodyear, highlighted the center’s importance to residents and the local economy. “The addition of Banner Health at GSQ is a tremendous benefit to our community,” Mayor Pizzillo remarked, emphasizing the critical need for accessible quality healthcare nearby. He noted that such investments play a vital role in enhancing the city’s reputation as an attractive place for living, working, and conducting business.
The development of the new center has been a collaborative effort between Ryan Companies US, Inc. and Globe Corporation. Jaime Northam, senior vice president of healthcare development for Ryan Companies, expressed pride in the project, stating, “Our team is proud to have completed the Banner Health Center at GSQ in Goodyear, designed to serve the growing healthcare needs of this vibrant community.”
Anticipated Growth in Healthcare Needs
According to research from JLL, the metro Phoenix area is expected to see significant growth in both inpatient and outpatient volumes over the next five years, surpassing national averages. This anticipated demand reinforces the importance of the new Banner Health Center in meeting the evolving healthcare needs of Goodyear, which is recognized as one of the fastest-growing cities in Arizona.
The Goodyear Civic Square aims to create a vibrant and walkable downtown area, providing residents with not only excellent amenities but also access to top-tier healthcare services. “The opening of this Banner Health Center is a big step forward in bringing the vision of GSQ to life,” said George Getz, co-CEO, chairman, and president of Globe Corp. His acknowledgment underscores the significance of this endeavor in developing a dynamic community space that enhances the quality of life for residents.
The establishment of the Banner Health Center represents a commitment to improving healthcare accessibility in Goodyear, making it a vital resource for the growing population in the region.
