Archbold Grady Launches Inpatient Withdrawal Management Program

Archbold Grady, located in Cairo, has announced the introduction of a new Withdrawal Management Service aimed at assisting adults in medically withdrawing from prolonged substance or alcohol abuse. This voluntary inpatient program targets individuals struggling with dependencies on alcohol, opiates, and benzodiazepines, commonly known as anxiety medications.

The program is designed to create a safe and supportive environment, offering 24-hour medical care, medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, and private rooms for patients. “Our goal is to provide a comfortable setting for recovery,” said David Griner, the Program Director. “Our motto is simple: help is a phone call away.”

Substance abuse significantly impacts personal and professional lives. Medically managed withdrawal allows individuals to rid their bodies of harmful toxins safely. “When you’ve used drugs or alcohol habitually for a long time, your body can begin to rely on it to feel normal,” explained Wendy Beatty, the Community Education Director. She emphasized that the severity of withdrawal symptoms can differ based on various factors, including the type of substance, individual physical health, age, and withdrawal method.

The typical stay for patients in the Archbold Grady program ranges from 3 to 5 days. The inpatient setting provides constant medical supervision and immediate access to treatment should complications arise during withdrawal. While this program marks the initial step in recovery, the Archbold team also helps patients develop plans for ongoing support after their discharge.

Admission to the Withdrawal Management Service is generally facilitated through referrals from primary care providers, though individuals may also self-refer when necessary. Referrals can be made around the clock by contacting the admissions team at 229-516-3494. All patients entering the program must be willing and able to provide consent.

The Withdrawal Management Service at Archbold Grady accepts adults aged 18 and older, including pregnant and post-partum mothers. The program is compatible with various insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Medicare Plans, Managed Medicaid Plans, and most other commercial insurance options.
