Sharon Osbourne Remembers Ozzy in Heartfelt First Interview

Sharon Osbourne has shared her heartfelt memories following the death of her husband, rock icon Ozzy Osbourne. In an emotional interview with Piers Morgan on his YouTube show, “Uncensored,” she recounted their final moments together and reflected on Ozzy’s legacy. He passed away on July 22, 2025, marking the end of a significant chapter in music history.

A Final Goodbye Filled With Love

During the interview, Sharon described the intimate exchange they had the night before Ozzy’s death. “The night before he passed, it was like 4:30, and he said, ‘Wake up,’” she recalled, her voice filled with emotion. “He said, ‘Kiss me,’ and then he said, ‘Hug me tight.’” The following morning, Ozzy engaged in his regular routine, heading downstairs for a workout—something he had maintained despite various health complications.

“He used to get up early and say, ‘I’ve got to go down and work out,’” Sharon explained. Tragically, after about 20 minutes of exercise, he passed away. Sharon described the moment she realized something was wrong: “I heard screaming and ran downstairs. They were trying to resuscitate him, and I told them, ‘Don’t. Leave him. He’s gone.’ I knew instantly he was gone.”

A Farewell Performance and Final Promise

Ozzy’s passing came just two weeks after his last concert, “Back to the Beginning,” held on July 5 in Birmingham, England. This performance reunited him with his original Black Sabbath bandmates and was intended as a farewell after years of battling serious health issues, including Parkinson’s disease and spinal complications.

Sharon disclosed that doctors had warned Ozzy that performing could be fatal. “They told him, ‘If you do this show, that’s it. You’re not going to get through it,’” she said, noting Ozzy’s determination. “But he said, ‘I’m doing it. I want to do it.’” For him, the concert was about gratitude. “He just wanted it so badly—to say thank you to everyone,” Sharon added. “And I think he honestly did know that he was done. It was his time.”

In addition to his performances, Sharon revealed that Ozzy had spent much of his life writing in journals, capturing his thoughts and lyrics. “He kept a journal every day,” she said. “Some of them might get published. There’s so much of him in those pages.”

Known globally as the “Prince of Darkness,” Ozzy Osbourne rose to fame in the 1970s as the frontman of Black Sabbath, a band that shaped the heavy metal genre. His solo career featured hits such as “Crazy Train” and “No More Tears.” Ozzy’s death at the age of 76 signifies the end of an era in music, but Sharon emphasized that his legacy will endure. “He was larger than life,” she reflected softly. “And now, he’s everywhere. In his music, in our memories—he’s still with us.”
