Meghan Trainor has addressed the scrutiny surrounding her recent **60-pound weight loss**, revealing that she employed the medication **Mounjaro** and worked closely with a trainer to achieve her health goals. During an interview with **Entertainment Tonight** on **November 13, 2023**, the singer, known for her hit “All About That Bass,” expressed pride in her journey and emphasized her commitment to health.
In her candid remarks, Trainor stated, “I’m literally, for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level. I’ve never felt better and I look incredible, I feel great.” She remarked on the backlash she faced, questioning why people targeted her self-improvement efforts. “I was like, ‘Wait a second, I’m taking care of myself. You don’t like it?’ So what am I supposed to do?”
Trainor, who shares two sons, **Riley**, aged **4**, and **Barry**, aged **2**, with husband **Daryl Sabara**, has been open about her use of **GLP-1 medication** Mounjaro, also known as **tirzepatide**, as part of her post-pregnancy health journey after giving birth to her second child in **July 2023**. She recalled previously feeling disheartened by media focus on her appearance rather than her music career. At the **Billboard Women in Music** event, she noted, “It was a little bit disheartening that so many of the questions were focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here.”
The artist emphasized that her transformation is part of a broader journey towards being the healthiest version of herself for her family and herself. “I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support to help me after my 2nd pregnancy. And I’m so glad I did because I feel great,” she explained.
In an **April 2023** episode of her podcast, “**Workin’ On It**,” Trainor and Sabara discussed their joint experience with Mounjaro, highlighting their shared commitment to health. “We did **75 Hard** after Riley was born, and, man, did we crush,” Trainor recalled. Initially skeptical about using medication, she later consulted her doctor and conducted her own research, feeling reassured about her decision.
Trainor also acknowledged her struggle with pregnancy weight gain, expressing her determination to prioritize health. “We’ve been on this journey for a while, and we learned how there are right ways to do it.” She conveyed no shame about using the GLP-1 medication, affirming that they remain dedicated to fitness and nutrition, noting, “We stay in the gym, we work out, we eat right, and we just noticed that we were less hungry.”
“I’m really proud of myself for learning. It was really hard to do, and I’m going to keep getting better and keep getting stronger, achieve things I never thought I could achieve, and no one can stop me — not even mean comments,” Trainor concluded.
As she continues to navigate her career and personal life, Trainor is set to release her seventh studio album, titled **“Toy with Me”**, in **April 2024**. The lead single, “**Still Don’t Care**,” is described as a lively, **‘80s-pop**, self-empowerment anthem, featuring collaborations with **Pentatonix’s** Scott Hoying, as well as her family.
Trainor’s journey reflects a broader conversation about body image, health, and the pressures faced by public figures, highlighting the importance of personal growth and self-acceptance amidst external criticisms.
