The Oneida County Health Department has officially relocated its offices from the Adirondack Bank Building at 185 Genesee St. in Utica to the Oneida County Office Building located at 800 Park Ave. This move aims to centralize operations, improve service coordination, and enhance accessibility for residents and community partners.
Anthony J. Picente Jr., Oneida County Executive, emphasized the benefits of this relocation, stating, “Centralizing these Health Department offices at the County Office Building will allow us to better coordinate services, strengthen internal operations and make it easier for residents and partners to access the resources they need.” He also noted that the move is designed to save taxpayer dollars by consolidating space and reducing operational expenses.
Details of the Relocation
The offices now situated at the new location include Administration, Special Children Services, Health Promotion, and Environmental Health. Importantly, the contact numbers for each of these divisions will remain unchanged. While there will be no modification in service delivery for Administration, Special Children Services, or Health Promotion, the Environmental Health Department’s in-person services will experience some adjustments due to the move.
Operators of permitted facilities such as restaurants, hotels, motels, pools, campgrounds, and mobile home parks are now required to mail or deliver their permit applications and payments to the Oneida County Office Building. Additionally, rabies and animal specimens must also be delivered to the new location, but arrangements for these deliveries should be coordinated in advance by calling (315) 798-5064. Any inquiries regarding testing should also be directed to this number.
Continuity of Clinic Services
Clinic services offered by the Oneida County Health Department will continue to function as usual. Clinic hours at the Elizabeth Street location in Utica remain the same, operating Monday through Friday. For residents in Rome, clinic hours will be available on specific dates and times.
