DART Stops Train Service in Downtown Dallas for Maintenance

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will temporarily halt train service in the Central Business District (CBD) of downtown Dallas on December 10, 2023, starting at 21:30. Regular service is expected to resume by December 11, 2023, at 04:00. This suspension is part of DART’s planned safety maintenance and testing, necessitating a shutdown of a segment of the transit system.

During the service interruption, train operations will be adjusted. The Red Line will operate between Parker Road and SMU/Mockingbird, as well as between EBJ Union and Westmoreland stations. The Blue Line will run between Downtown Rowlett and SMU/Mockingbird, and between EBJ Union and UNT Dallas stations. The Green Line service will be available between Baylor and Buckner, and between Victory and North Carrollton/Frankford stations. The Orange Line will connect Victory with DFW Airport stations.

Passengers needing access to Parker Road should transfer to a Red Line train at SMU/Mockingbird. Notably, the Silver Line trains will not be affected by this temporary service change.

Shuttle Services Available for Passengers

To facilitate travel during the maintenance period, DART will provide shuttle buses operating every 20 minutes along specific routes. Green Line passengers can catch a shuttle at Victory or Baylor Station, which will stop at key locations including Victory, West End, Pearl/Arts District, Deep Ellum, and Baylor stations. For Red, Blue, and Orange Line travelers, shuttle bus transfers can be made at EBJ Union or SMU/Mockingbird Station, with stops at EBJ Union, West End, Akard, St. Paul, Pearl/Arts District, CityPlace/Uptown, and SMU/Mockingbird stations.

DART advises passengers to plan ahead if traveling through the CBD on the evening of December 10. Those using the service should be prepared for possible delays, as some trips may take longer than usual. DART staff, volunteers, and police officers will be present at stations to assist riders during this time.
