CherryRoad Media and Ogden Newspapers Forge Partnership for LocalRoad

CherryRoad Media and Ogden Newspapers have announced a new shared services partnership focused on enhancing circulation and distribution through CherryRoad’s innovative platform, LocalRoad. This collaboration will see Ogden transition its subscription and distribution operations for its portfolio of over 50 daily newspapers and associated weeklies to the LocalRoad system.

Enhancing Community Journalism

In a statement regarding the partnership, Jeremy Gulban, CEO of CherryRoad Media, expressed enthusiasm about working with Ogden Newspapers. “We are thrilled to work with an industry leader like Ogden Newspapers,” he said. “Our companies share a commitment to the sustainability of community journalism, and we appreciate the opportunity to support Ogden’s efforts with systems we originally built for our own publishing operations.”

LocalRoad is a cloud-based, full-service circulation and distribution platform designed specifically for newspaper publishers. The system aims to be intuitive for local teams while scalable enough to meet the needs of larger organizations. Gulban emphasized the industry’s need for modern solutions, stating, “Our industry is starved for modern solutions that meet today’s challenges. Publishers – large and small – need nimble, easy-to-use systems. LocalRoad was built to do exactly that.”

Strategic Collaboration for Success

As part of the partnership, CherryRoad has worked closely with Ogden leadership to assess their specific needs and define development priorities ahead of full integration and launch. Cameron Nutting Williams from Ogden Newspapers remarked on the collaboration, noting, “CherryRoad brought not just the right system, but the right approach – listening first, aligning on our operational realities, and committing to an integration plan that meets our deadlines and our standards.” He expressed excitement about the benefits LocalRoad brings to subscribers and teams alike.

Originally developed to address CherryRoad’s internal requirements, LocalRoad now supports nearly 100 community newspapers owned or operated by the company. The platform serves as a turnkey option for smaller publishers while also providing a configurable, enterprise-grade solution for larger groups.

Beyond the LocalRoad platform, CherryRoad Media offers a range of modern tools and shared services aimed at reinforcing local journalism. Their offerings include advertising support, promotions, printing solutions, design services, and comprehensive operational assistance that covers accounting, HR, IT, web hosting, and more. The company’s motto encapsulates its mission: “You report. We support.”
