The Sunny View Clubhouse, located at 95 Coopers Gap Road, celebrated a successful year in 2025, characterized by substantial community engagement and assistance. Throughout the year, the Clubhouse implemented various programs aimed at supporting local residents, particularly those in need.
Significant Community Initiatives
In response to local challenges, the Clubhouse distributed essential relief supplies, including heaters, generators, basic necessities, and clean water. During a particularly challenging period, the organization provided meals to over five fire departments responding to wildfires in the area in March. This initiative showcased the Clubhouse’s commitment to assisting not only individuals but also emergency services.
The Storm Repair Assistance Program emerged as a crucial resource, enabling 79 households to recover and rebuild following recent storms. This program, alongside the Caring Cupboard Food Pantry, which assisted individuals 1,183 times between July and December, directly supported 483 families experiencing food insecurity. Monthly food distributions resulted in the delivery of over 1,200 food boxes to residents in need.
Community Events and Engagement
In addition to its ongoing programs, the Clubhouse hosted several significant events that fostered community spirit. The Hot Meal Thursdays initiative provided over 2,000 meals to local families, while the annual Thanksgiving Feast welcomed more than 300 attendees for an afternoon of gratitude and togetherness. Furthermore, a special Veterans Appreciation event honored 22 veterans and their spouses, acknowledging their dedicated service.
Another highlight of the year was the Annual Christmas House, which attracted its largest and most diverse crowd to date. The event fostered a sense of belonging and joy among attendees, reflecting the Clubhouse’s role in nurturing community ties.
The year concluded with the successful completion of five home repair projects through the newly launched Home Repair Assistance Program. This initiative included the donation of a camper to a community member in need, exemplifying the Clubhouse’s commitment to addressing various community challenges.
The Sunny View Clubhouse extends its heartfelt gratitude to every volunteer, donor, and partner who contributed to its efforts. Special appreciation is given to the Polk County Community Foundation for its continued support, which has been instrumental in enabling the Clubhouse to make a lasting impact in the community.
