Old Courthouse Decorated for 2025 Holiday Season in Red Bluff

The historic Tehama County Courthouse in Red Bluff has been transformed for the 2025 holiday season, showcasing an array of festive decorations both inside and out. Located at 633 Washington St., the courthouse is now adorned with twinkling lights wrapped around its columns and a prominent lighted star crowning the building.

Inside, the rotunda features a towering Christmas tree, a centerpiece that reflects the building’s rich history and community spirit. The facilities management staff, led by Facilities Manager Levi Conner, has been decorating the courthouse in this manner since approximately 1960. Over the years, decorations have varied, sometimes embracing pop culture themes, including displays inspired by the Grinch.

For this year, the decorations have been chosen to reflect a more traditional holiday aesthetic. The large tree, surrounded by warm Christmas lights, fills the rotunda, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. The bright lights bounce off the shiny tiles of the lobby, enhancing the festive ambiance and making the historic building shine even brighter during the holiday season.

The courthouse, which is over 103 years old, serves as a hub for various county offices and has become an integral part of the community’s holiday celebrations. The decorations, implemented in response to citizen requests, have successfully brought a sense of joy and togetherness to residents and visitors alike.

As the holiday season progresses, the courthouse stands as a symbol of community spirit and tradition, providing a picturesque backdrop for those wishing to immerse themselves in the festive cheer.
