URGENT UPDATE: A new after-school art program, Art Lab Thursdays, is set to launch on January 29 in Fort Worth. This exciting initiative offers children ages 6 to 12 a unique opportunity to explore their creativity in a relaxed, supportive environment every Thursday from 4:00 to 5:30 PM.
Designed to foster artistic exploration, Art Lab Thursdays provides a space where kids can freely engage with various art materials, boosting their confidence while creating at their own pace. Each session kicks off with a brief guided introduction, followed by open studio time where participants can paint, build, draw, sculpt, and experiment with a wide range of artistic techniques.
The focus of the program is on the artistic process rather than perfection, promoting creativity over comparison, and encouraging joy through making. Parents can feel confident dropping off their children, knowing they will be supported and encouraged throughout their artistic journey.
Art activities will include:
– Painting & mixed media
– Clay & sculpture
– Drawing & mark-making
– Collage & building materials
Registration is straightforward, with options including a $25 drop-in fee per session or a $95 monthly membership covering four Thursdays. This program is led by Panther City Artists, a local nonprofit committed to inclusive, process-oriented art education.
Parents are encouraged to secure their child’s spot now, as spaces may fill quickly. For more information and to register online, visit www.panthercityartists.org. Don’t miss this chance for your child to discover the joy of art in a nurturing setting!
