The youngest daughter of notorious cartel leader Nemesio “El Mencho” Cervantes has opened a coffee shop in Perris, California, drawing attention due to her family’s infamous lineage. Laisha Oseguera Gonzalez, age 24, operates El Rincon La Chulis, a café that offers a range of beverages and dishes, including Iced Horchata Lattes and chilaquiles. The establishment has gained a positive reputation among locals, who were surprised to learn of its connection to a prominent drug lord.
Customers at the café described it as a friendly and welcoming place. One regular remarked, “It’s a normal place, and she’s really nice. A normal, respectful person who runs a good business, but she never mentions her family.” This sentiment reflects an apparent desire to separate the café from the criminal activities associated with her father, who was killed during a military operation on February 22, 2024.
Despite the café’s inviting atmosphere, Laisha’s family history is anything but typical. Her husband, Cristian Gutierrez-Ochoa, aged 39 and known as “El Gaucho,” is a high-ranking member of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). He has faced serious legal troubles, including charges of kidnapping and drug trafficking. Gutierrez-Ochoa was reported to have faked his death to escape law enforcement, only to resurface in California, where he allegedly acquired a five-bedroom home in Riverside for $1.2 million in cash.
Gutierrez-Ochoa was eventually arrested in 2024 and sentenced to 11 years in prison for trafficking cocaine and methamphetamines into the United States. His actions reportedly stemmed from a retaliation plot against the Mexican Navy for the arrest of Rosalinda Gonzalez Valencia, Laisha’s mother, who was convicted for her involvement with the cartel.
Laisha’s life mirrors a dramatic narrative often found in telenovelas. She has maintained a low profile since her father’s death and has not publicly commented on her family’s criminal ties. However, Mexican media indicated that she attended her father’s funeral in Guadalajara, where he was laid to rest in a gold coffin.

Her sister, Jessica Johana Oseguera Gonzalez, known as “La Negra,” also faced legal repercussions in the U.S. for money laundering related to drug proceeds.
