UPDATE: A construction worker has been seriously injured in a shocking hit-and-run incident on Interstate 95 in Foxborough, Massachusetts, early Monday morning at 2:15 a.m. Massachusetts State Police are actively seeking information on the driver responsible for this reckless act.
The victim, who was retrieving a construction sign at the time, sustained severe injuries to his right leg, primarily affecting his ankle and foot. First responders, including Massachusetts State Police, arrived swiftly on the scene, providing critical first aid and applying a tourniquet to control life-threatening bleeding. “He was conscious and alert when we got there,” explained Foxborough Fire Department Captain Colin Sweeney. “They did a great job with controlling the bleeding before our paramedics transported him to Boston Medical Center.”
A passenger-side mirror, believed to belong to the suspect’s vehicle, was discovered at the scene, prompting authorities to launch a full investigation into this incident. The Massachusetts State Police extended their deepest sympathies to the victim and his family, emphasizing the senseless nature of the crash.
Jonathan Gulliver, MassDOT Undersecretary and Highway Administrator, expressed his concern: “We extend our deepest concern to the contractor who was seriously injured while working in Foxborough early this morning. We are keeping them and their family in our thoughts and wish them a full and speedy recovery.”
